INGREDIENTS:

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup cocoa powder

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/4 cup unsalted butter

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Heat the cream: In a saucepan, I gently heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it begins to simmer. I ensure it does not reach a boiling point.
  2. Mix the cocoa powder and sugar: In a separate bowl, I thoroughly whisk together the cocoa powder and granulated sugar until the mixture is well combined.
  3. Combine the ingredients: Slowly, I pour the hot cream into the cocoa powder mixture, continuously whisking to prevent the formation of lumps. I continue whisking until the mixture achieves a smooth and consistent blend.
  4. Add the butter and vanilla extract: I cut the unsalted butter into small pieces and introduce them to the ganache. I stir until the butter is fully melted and incorporated. Then, I add the vanilla extract and mix thoroughly.
  5. Let it cool: I allow the ganache to cool at room temperature for approximately 10-15 minutes. During this time, it will thicken, making it easier to spread or pipe onto desserts.
  6. Use as desired: My homemade chocolate ganache is now prepared and can be used to enhance my favorite desserts.
