Italian Crescent Casserole




1 pound ground Italian sausage or ground bee

f1 small onion, chopped

d1 red bell pepper, chopped

1 cup marinara sauce

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough

2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese



Preheat your oven to the temperature recommended on the crescent roll dough package.

In a large skillet, cook the ground sausage or beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess grease.

Add chopped onion and red bell pepper to the skillet. Cook for a few minutes until the vegetables are softened.

Stir in the marinara sauce and Italian seasoning. Let the mixture simmer for a few more minutes.

Unroll the crescent roll dough and press it into the bottom of a greased casserole dish, creating a crust.

Spread the meat and sauce mixture over the crescent roll dough.

Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the meat mixture.

Carefully roll out the remaining crescent roll dough and place it over the cheese layer, trying to cover as much of the casserole as possible.

Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top.

Bake in the preheated oven for the time specified on the crescent roll dough package, or until the casserole is bubbly and the dough is golden brown.

Allow the casserole to cool slightly before serving.
