INGREDIENTS:

1 pound of ground beef (preferably lean)

1 egg

1/4 cup of breadcrumbs

1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce

1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon of onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

1 tablespoon of olive oil (for cooking)

DIRECTIONS:

Preparation: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, egg, breadcrumbs, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix these ingredients well until everything is evenly distributed.

Forming Patties: Divide the mixture into four equal portions. Shape each portion into a patty about 1/2 inch thick.

Cooking: Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the patties to the skillet. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they are well browned and cooked through.

Serving: Serve the hamburger steak patties hot. They can be paired with sides such as mashed potatoes, steamed vegetables, or a simple salad.

VARIATIONS:

Gravy: For an extra touch, you can make a simple gravy by using the pan drippings. Add a tablespoon of flour to the drippings, cook for a minute, then slowly add beef broth or water, whisking continuously until it thickens.

Onions and Mushrooms: Sauté sliced onions and mushrooms in the same pan after cooking the patties and add them to the gravy for a richer flavor.
